Tell me about your life before Vision?

Before joining Vision in December 2020, my life was very sedentary and not much going out. Most of the time, I found myself in front of an electronic screen either for work or play. On top of that the lockdown was causing additional stress which led to overeating. Outside of work hours, I did not feel I had much energy left to pursue other interests/ hobbies. As I plan to work full-time and study part-time starting in 2021, I know I need to increase my energy levels a lot through becoming more physically active. A healthy body for a healthy mind.

What results have you achieved?

For about 3 months training at Vision, I have observed significant muscle gain and improvement in both core strength and cardiovascular endurance. I’m most proud of my cardio, before I could barely jog for 5 minutes non-stop, now I can jog for 20 minutes straight.

How has life changed for you?

These days I am much more physically active and mentally energized. I like to think to some extent, I have achieved the goal I originally set out to achieve. I've also gained more confidence in my body and its ability to adapt and get stronger.

What is your favourite thing about training at Vision?

My favourite thing about training at Vision is definitely the community, from the owner, trainers to all gym friends, and running buddies. Vision Prahran has such an active and tight-knit community that I am immensely proud of be part of. Everyone is enthusiastic about fitness and self-motivated and the trainers are exceptionally good at constantly challenging us to push the boundaries and go beyond.

What are some defining moments during your journey?

I feel like every training session with my PT is a defining moment as I know I must step out of comfort zone and grow a bit. But the biggest milestone for me was completing the Sri Chinmoy Yarra Trail 14km run on 21/02/2021. Crossing the finish line and cheered by my Vision friends was tremendous joy.

What advice would you give someone in a similar situation to where you were, and thinking about making a change?

Dare to dream to become the best version of yourself, act consistently with that version, and enjoy the journey as you observe how reality will eventually catch up.
