  1. Set goals
  • First and foremost, have your goals in mind! It is a lot harder to veer off track when you have your goals set and know what you want to achieve. By being aware of your goals and the results you are after, this will help with direction and it will give your sessions more importance.
  1. Work out with a trainer or a friend
  • When you train with a trainer or a friend this is a great way to keep you accountable to your goals. You will feel less inclined to skip out on a session, you'll be able to push one another and it's highly likely that you will have more enjoyment doing it with someone rather than by yourself - group sessions are also great to be a part of!
  1. Watch your portion sizes
  • When it starts to get a bit cooler, we tend to reach for food that is more comforting - which usually results in richer foods that are higher in carbohydrates and fats and a lot more of them. By being aware of this, monitoring your portion sizes will have a massive impact on your results, as we all know nutrition plays a massive role (80%!) Keep up your meal preps and stick to your macros!
  1. Try out the 5 minute rule
  • This is a great tip to get yourself up and out of bed, as this can be the biggest struggle leaving your warm home and embracing the cold outside. Just get yourself up and to your workout, and if you really don't want to continue after 5 minutes than give yourself a pass to leave. More often than not, once you get there and start you won't want to stop - and I bet you'll be glad that you came and stuck with it
  1. No excuses
  • At the end of the day, we can all sit around and make excuses for not wanting to exercise over winter. But I guarantee it'll be the ones who made no excuses and stuck to their goals over the winter months that are the ones who see the results. Like they say, summer bodies are made in winter!
