Your trips could be cancelled, that event that you dieted so long for may not be going ahead. What's the point? Might as well grab the ice cream sit back and watch Netflix right ?
WRONG! Here's why you need to keep it up.
Exercise
Movement can flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This reduces the chance of getting sick.
Exercise actually causes change in antibodies and white blood cells. They circulate much faster around the body which means they can detect illnesses more quickly.
While you exercise there is also a quick rise in your body temperature which can help the body fight off infection better.
Another great advantage of exercise is that it slows down the release of stress hormones. This can reduce the chances of getting sick as well as releasing stress that we are all feeling in these uncertain times
Your exercise routine should consist of a balance between resistance and cardio with some stretching for recovery.
Get fresh air and sun
There are studies that show that fresh air is a natural disinfectant. Your also less likely to get sick while you are stuck in a room with a bunch of people. Think about that guy coughing next to you on the train and you've got nowhere to run. While the fresh air can kill viruses and other harmful germs. Equally sunlight is germicidal and can also kill viruses. A great way to get outside in the open is to go for a run or attend one of the outdoor group sessions we are running. We are also keeping all windows open so the air can flow more freely.
Eat healthy
A diet high in fruits and vegetable supports a healthy immune system. This should kind of be obvious to you right now. But did you know that eating "bad" foods containing refined sugars can actually weaken your immune system and put you at risk of getting sick?
Refined sugars can reduce how white blood cells perform and increase inflammatory markers.
Some viruses can actually thrive on sugar so the consumption of it will help keep it going.
Your immune system can also be weakened by smoking and alcohol.
Drink water
There are so many benefits of water that we could write an entire article purely on the topic.
Now I couldn't find any proof of what they said about how water pushes the corona virus to the stomach and kills it. But it's a logical habit to have either way.
It will stop you from eating when you are not hungry and you'll be feeling better. Every 20kg you weigh drink 1L of water. If you think that's too much water than I would recommend dropping body weight
You worked so hard don't waist it !
Going backwards now would not be ideal coming into winter. People who are overweight or obese have fewer white blood cells with a reduced capability to fight infection. The cold and flu season still has to come this winter. Not to mention the fact that when all of this is over there will be two types of people this summer coming. People who took action and achieved what they said, and people who used another excuse to not achieve it.
Who will YOU be ?
