Have you made your bed today?
What a weird question to be asked right? I remember thinking the same thing the first time I saw the question in a not too dissimilar way as you're being asked right now. What possible reason could someone have for asking about my morning routine? But let's think about it for a second.. what would making your bed mean for you? A clean room? Sure. But what about a sense of accomplishment, a small 'tick' against your daily achievements? Before you even leave the house in the morning you've succeeded, you've set yourself up with a strong start and now you're ready to kick goals and be a boss for the rest of the day.
In case you've missed the point of this question making your bed is not really about making your bed but more the effect this simple daily task has on your mind. You're telling your mind you can do this, you've got this, today is going to be a good day. You're setting yourself up to succeed and all you did was make the bed... how weird right? but try it and tell me it doesn't work, I dare you.
So, each day when you get up make your bed, let it be the first thing you do as you roll out of that warm, comfy mess you've spent the last 8 hours enjoying. Go on, make the bed!
Let's step this up a notch... we're laying down the challenge. Starting Saturday (we thought the weekend would be a nice way to ease into it since you don't have to rush off to the office) make your bed each morning for the next week and tag us in your social posts / stories. Don't worry about getting all fancy with hospital grade bed corners, just pull up that sheet, straighten the cover and put those pillows back in their spot. Meet us at the end of the challenge and we'll have a surprise for you. Can you make your bed for 7 days straight? WE know you can and we cannot wait for you to see how one small change can make such a big impact on the day.
