At Vision Personal Training, we know that failing to plan is planning to fail so we help our clients set clear, specific and realistic goals and targets and then focus on keeping them accountable to these goals. Before embarking on that new diet or exercise regime we recommend, you simply sit down and write out what you would like to achieve in 6 weeks time and how you are going to do that, down to what you will do each day to reach that goal. This could be as simple as: "I will lose 4 kilos in 6 weeks. I will plan and prep my food for the week on a Sunday and I will go for a 60 minute walk every day".

Nutrition Planning

Have you heard that you can't out train a bad diet? This is possibly the most important philosophy in relation to achieving your health and fitness goals and requires plenty of focus over your 6 weeks. Arguably over 70% of your results can be attributed to your nutrition, so before you start hitting the exercise hard, plan out the changes you will make to your daily nutrition. Remember this is not a quick fix "diet" but a lifestyle change so start slow and work your way towards improvement rather than perfection!

If you currently cannot imagine 3pm without some chocolate, look to change that dairy milk chocolate with some healthier, high-quality dark chocolate. The time it takes to prepare and plan your food over the 6 weeks might be a change to what you're used to but considering the importance of nutrition in relation to your goals this will be time well spent! Six Week Workout Guide

Although exercise only makes up approximately. 30% of your results, it still is an extremely important part of your plan as it not only helps your body composition, but makes you feel good. Post exercise, your body releases endorphins which have many positive effects on multiple areas of your life! At Vision Personal Training, over your first 6 weeks, we focus on building a strong foundation through structured weights training. Weights training has a multitude of benefits including increasing your metabolism and decreasing your chances of developing osteoporosis. 2 x 30 minute sessions of strength training each week is all you need, with a focus on major muscle groups in each session. To support the weight training, you need to also be completing some cardio exercise but don't think you need to smash yourself with endless HIIT sessions all week! 75% of your cardio exercise can come from low to moderate exercise (such as walking or swimming) and only 25% needs to be hard meaning as little as 20-30 minutes a week needs to be at an intensity where you can no longer hold a conversation!

Just like with your food, setting realistic expectations of your exercise each week will help you maintain a good habit long-term, so if you're coming from zero exercise a great plan might be to complete 30 minutes 3 times per week and build from there! At Vision Personal Training, we help our clients understand their cardio requirements and then the ratio of intensities. We have a number of opportunities available in the studio to help them complete the requirements including one on one Personal Training sessions, group training and studio access as well as Vision Virtual Training for tracking your completion each week.
