1. Tell us about your life before joining Vision Personal Training?
My life was simply just working long hours. Actually, my life was work. work had completely taken over my life. When I was coming home after work, depending on the time, I would grab some take away on my way or just eat out during the week.
On weekends I was never getting out of bed before 9AM and it would often be much later. I would then just do the usual house chores, go shopping and catching up with friends (which was always going out eating). I hardly did any cooking at home and definitely not much exercise. I would sometimes go swimming- but only on hot days. Only rarely would I go for a walk or a ride.
2. What results have you achieved at Vision Personal Training ?
I have achieved a lot more than I even wanted, or thought possible, when I first started. Obviously my main achievement is the massive weight loss. I weighed in at 122kgs when started at Vision and now, almost 50kgs lighter, I feel like a new person. I feel good, I've got a lot more confidence in all aspects of my life. Actually most aspects of my life have changed, because of what I am now able to do. I am cooking my own food and I exercise and most importantly, I actually love it! It's not a chore; it's just a part of my life now.
3. What impact has Vision Personal Training had on your life since achieving your amazing results?
The ongoing support has been so important. The understanding of what I need to do to get to my goal has helped me a lot. Setting ongoing goals really helps to keep me motivated when I don't feel like continuing. The trainers have really helped me to see myself in a positive way and they actually listen to me and care about my results, which I know will make all this into lifelong changes. This is the new me!
4. What are some defining moments during your journey?
Being noticed. People actually seeing me and caring about me. Both by other clients and the trainers too. Vision really feels like a family and it's great when your family sees the change in you. It makes you feel great!
5. What advice would you give someone who is currently thinking about taking a positive step towards changing their health and fitness?
You can change so many aspects of your life, if you only start cooking your own good meals instead of getting take away and start exercising instead of sitting on the couch. You can do anything you put your mind to! You will build self confidence and no longer have low self esteem. Changing your life bit by bit will make you believe in yourself. Group exercise is a great platform of meeting new friends and socialise, I always feel like I can ask anyone for advise during group sessions too. I always have fun when I am in the studio.
My only advice would be; take it slow so you can enjoy your exercise and have fun too! Slow is fast!
