Client from Ivanhoe | Trainer: Joel Murphy
1. How was your health and fitness before you joined Vision?
Pretty much non existent. I didn't really know how I could better myself. My main source of exercise at the time is just the general walking I did during work as a bartender and catching public transport. I didn't have a clue how to eat healthily outside having a salad of some description. Initially, I did try to do my own research online about the changes I could make, but there is too much information out there that I couldn't tell what would have been actually helpful vs what was a gimmick or a fad.
2. Tell me about your recent training (the highlight of it)?
Honestly, Joel has been so easy to work with throughout these months. He completely understood my goals since day one and has armed me with the relevant information I need to achieve them. I know I can go to Joel to pick his brain on anything diet and fitness-related and he would be able to provide what I need to know in a way where I can actually understand. I have definitely become more confident with this lifestyle change because of him. One of the main things I appreciate from my recent training is that Joel knows exactly when I can be pushed to train harder and is completely receptive to when I want to push my limits. Today (8/08/24) I was really able to tell that my fitness has in fact gone up since I was able to smash some of my PRs on some of the exercises.
3. What results have you achieved lately?
Depending on when this goes out, I may reach a 15kg loss by the end of the month. Currently, I am down 13.1kg since I have started with Vision Personal Training. I have also been able to achieve the very first goal I set myself since joining Vision and that was to lower my blood pressure down to a normal range. I was teetering been a High and Very High range (140/90+ - 160-100+. I don't have any records this very moment, but I'm pretty sure I measured around 170/110 at my peak) and as of 4/08/24, I measured at 105/79. Lowering my blood pressure meant that I am now finally able to take medication to treat my ADHD after being diagnosed November 2023.
4. What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Vision?
The point of difference I found about Vision is their approach to Personal Training. I've had my fair share of personal training with a bunch of programs written out for me. However, no other trainer has been able to provide the ongoing support and providing the education needed for my lifestyle change. I wouldn't have achieved what I did without getting an understanding exactly how to reach my goals without the break downs I was provided for my personal diet and exercise. Vision definitely provides more of a catered and holistic approach compared to other trainers I've worked with. Other than that, everyone in the studio is super welcoming and supportive. Whether you're there for a training session or finding out you have gone down in weight, you should expect a hey-hello or a cheer from someone celebrating.
