Tell us about life before joining Vision.
Before joining Vision, my mornings often began by skipping breakfast or grabbing an Up&Go on the run. By midday, I was ravenous, leading to constant grazing throughout the day and late-night snacking. This cycle left me feeling sluggish and full every morning, only to repeat the same pattern.
Exercise was sporadic and felt more like a chore than something I enjoyed. I wasn’t happy with how I looked or felt, constantly frustrated that I couldn’t lose weight. I had achieved so much in other areas of my life, but weight loss always seemed out of my control, like something forever beyond my reach. I believed I was just meant to be this way, stuck with the body I had.

What impact has Vision had on your life since achieving your amazing results?
Vision has taught me so many life-changing lessons:

  • Starting the day with a healthy, nourishing breakfast is key.
  • Exercise is no longer optional; it's a non-negotiable part of my routine.
  • I've found joy in running, something I never thought I’d enjoy.
  • I’ve accepted that exercise is a lifelong commitment.
  • Most importantly, I’ve learned that I am in control of my health and my body.

What results have you achieved?
I feel strong, healthy, and capable of anything I set my mind to. While my weight has fluctuated, losing up to 12 kilograms and regaining some, the true success lies in my overall health and strength. I've run two half marathons and taken part in numerous 10-15km events. Now, I run twice a week and exercise about 4-5 hours weekly—and I genuinely enjoy it! I always wanted to be one of those people who needed to run, and now I am.

What are some defining moments during your journey?
Running during the COVID lockdowns, continuing my PT sessions online, and attending group classes were pivotal. They kept me grounded, both mentally and physically, and brought a sense of normalcy in uncertain times.
Crossing the finish line of my first half marathon at 50 was a major milestone—one I’ll never forget.

What advice would you give someone thinking about taking a positive step towards their health and fitness?
Exercise is as essential to your well-being as brushing your teeth or showering—it's non-negotiable. Once you make it part of your routine, it just becomes something you do, naturally. While I enjoy eating, I’ve learned to love moving, and the best place to make that shift is with Vision PT. Their expertise and support are truly second to none.  My trainer, Ashild, has been instrumental in helping me achieve my results, not just through training but by focusing on my mindset as well. The team at Vision Surrey Hills, which Ashild leads, is fantastic—they’ve all been trained exceptionally well by her. I couldn’t recommend them more.
