1.    LIFE BEFORE VISION
Before Vision, life was a merry-go-round of every diet plan ever invented!  From all the major weight loss companies to all the diet books in all the land, I’ve tried them – with varying degrees of success on pretty much everything I did, but not for long.  As soon as I reached my goal, the weight would start creeping on within weeks, I can’t remember ever maintaining a goal weight for more than 2 weeks.  Then I would spiral out of control, say this is too hard, and before long I was back to not being able to fit into anything in my wardrobe again.   Exercise was always a bother for me too, it has always been sporadic, at best, and something I’d rather avoid.

2.    IMPACT ON MY LIFE
As I’ve been generally healthy even though overweight, being able to fit into my clothes again has always been the most important part of this process for me.    For years I stayed home, rejected invitations, avoided booking holidays, and the few trips we went on, as much as I loved being with my family, I dreaded because I refused to buy bigger clothes.  Now it’s like I have the proverbial new lease on life!  I fit into everything, all those pieces with the tags still on them I’m finally able to wear.   I’ve even had to alter 80% of my clothes because they’re too big!  I have said ‘yes’ to every invitation and event, and most importantly, my husband and kids say that I’ve changed, that I’m so much happier and I smile all the time now.  

3.    RESULTS ACHIEVED SO FAR
So far I have lost 14 kilos and have 2 kilos to go. Dawson has been the best trainer I could ever wish for, he’s encouraged, supported and cheered on my all my efforts and achievements.   The increase in my energy levels is massive, I sleep really well and no more breathlessness up the steps in my house and work!

4.    DEFINING MOMENTS
Again, it’s all about fitting into my clothes for me.  I’ve had a gorgeous ballgown hanging in my wardrobe for 6 years – never worn.  I was able to fit into it in September for a Gala Ball at the Palladium, I felt so great, comfortable in my own skin for the first time in a long time.  I knew then, that I wouldn’t be going backwards ever again.  Also, going to the entire Spring Racing Carnival, getting through multiple lunches and events and still losing 100g – it proved to me that I could sustain this way of eating and exercise whilst still enjoying social events.

5.    ADVICE TO OTHERS
My advice to anyone, who like me, has tried everything else – COME TO VISION PERSONAL TRAINING!!!  It is easily the most enjoyable and successful programme I have ever been on.  The 2 x 30-minute strength sessions are challenging and, never thought I’d say it … fun!  The trainers are amazing, so supportive, the gym environment is really welcoming, happy and comfortable - this is something I will be able to maintain and want to continue for years ahead.
